ROOM WITH A VIEW

After some busy and cold days I now enjoy sunshine and this wonderful view. See you!

MY VIEW

My view these days is  mostly like this. I am busy working on new objects in my atelier and having lots of fun with the new concrete alphabet I made.

NEW THINGS

There have been a lot of new things in the last few days. First of all I am now able to make a tasty bibimbap all by myself and I can't tell you how happy I am. Here is the recipe if you also want to give it a try.
I fell back into my habit of playing with wool... this time I am trying to crochet. I still have to learn a lot.
On one of these cold summer evenings I made a great walk to explore my neighborhood again. I visited one of the best garden projects in Zurich, the StadionbracheZueri West changes so fast it's amazing, so much going on so much new architecture. Some of them really going crazy, but build your own opinion. haha!
And finally I have been to the so called best place for coffee in town, the Cafe Grande.

BYE BYE LABITZKE

With the beginning of the new year also some things changed in my neighbor hood. First they startet to pull down the sugar fabric directly next my house. And since this morning they also pull down what is called Labitzke Areal. It is an old fabric ensemble, that was occopied und got vacated by police on Wednesday. I am really heartbroken because I really liked my neighbors very much. There was always something going on. There was so many different usage of the rooms und so many different people around, just great. I remember the portuguese football bar being next to the automomer beauty salon. It was always an open, colorful and wild place for anybody who wanted to join.
Zurich is such a shiny city, where everything is more than perfect. So it just makes more sense to build new awful buildings for rich people. Who owns Zurich?
This Saturday will be a demo at Limmatplatz 9.30 pm. Come join!

A NICE HIKE

The day after the big celebrations I got convinced to go for a hike although the weather was not perfect. We decided to go to Pilatus. The hike up was really nice and I even enjoyed it a little :) Sad thing was that as we reached the top it got so foggy, that I was not able to take any pictures from the view.

CELEBRATING

We spend a very beautiful summer evening celebrating the birthday of Switzerland or how I like to call this strange country Swissneyland. There was a great party rooftop party with nice people and great food followed by enourmous fireworks.

I FINALLY BOUGHT A NEW SIDE TABLE!

this is not my pic!

I was really looking for a long time to find a new side table for my sofa, but I din't find a good one. I looked everywhere, but no one satisfied my taste. Today I stumbled over this one and I loved it so much that I had to buy it immediately. The shape is awesome and it's made out of fiber cement, which is great and long lasting material.
So I am really happy!
Now I have to get rid off my old side table, maybe I'll give it back to the street because I also found it there on one of my late evening walks when I still lived in Vienna.

BUSY IN THE GARDEN

This was a quite busy week in the garden. Everything is in full bloom and so much is growing there. I am harvesting every day and I love it so much. Nothing tastes better than homegrown stuff!

The blooming lavender reminds me so much of the fields in the Provence.

Bees are most welcome guests in my little paradise.

I am very proud because for the first time nearly all of my sempervivums produced perfect blossoms.

I also have so much delicious raspberries that I don't know what to do. Any suggestions except sirup, cake, freezing and smoothies?

Also the red currants went crazy...

...I had to make exquisite sirup with them.

NICE WEEKEND IN ZURICH

I had a really nice weekend in Zurich. Which started on Friday evening with a glamorous dinner at Belvoirpark Restaurant. It was so delicious and I am so happy that after two weeks of being sick with my stomach I could really enjoy the wonderful food.

Yesterday Buchfieber organized a book market for art, architecture, design, photography and comic books. Of course I had to go there... but before Espresso at Rio Bar.

After all the exhausting shopping it was time for a delayed breakfast at Restaurant Viadukt.

And in the evening it was all party with friends at our place. We also had a very tasty Assassination Apfelstrudel made by Abel to remember the death of Archduke Ferdinand of Austria an his wife Sophie.

ABOUT ME

Hi, welcome to my blog!

I'm Ivonn, an Austrian girl currently living in

Zurich

, Switzerland

. For my living I work as an architect but in my spare time I am a passionate crafter, photographer, artist, traveller and lover of long walks.

At the moment I am producing handmade concrete planters with my label

diamantgrau

, but I am also very much into other crafting stuff like buttons, paperwork, screen printing, jewelry, sewing, knitting, crocheting or whatever comes my way.

In my blog I post pictures of my crafting or things I like at the moment, but mostly pictures of my everyday life. I am no big fan of photoshop or other retouching techniques at all, so the pictures I post here are as i took them, so they may not be perfect but who is?

I am really interested in art and architecture, my heart beats for graphic design and the Italian Renaissance. If I could choose anywhere to live, it would be Venice. I feel a strong affinity to this place and I go there as often as I can.

You are welcome to send me an

email

. I am also

 preparing

FAQ

where I will give answers to your most asked questions

.

I'm available for talks, walks, art nights and crafty adventures.

Thank you for visiting, enjoy!

I'M STILL WORKING ON IT...

I am really hard trying to give this blog a good look. This is not so easy because it's a "ready-made" thing, my aesthetic requirements a very high and my programming skills are low :)
But I'll give my best to make it look nice.

A NEW START

At the beginning of the year I decided to make some new stuff, it feels good to start over again.

The Homemade Buttons project got a little bit boring and it didn't satisfy me anymore. I still make buttons and all the other stuff from time to time, special reasons or on request. Feel free to ask me, if you need some!

Since my blog went down with the button website, I am trying to make a new one. So here is!

Hello and a warm welcome to my new blog!
I hope you'll keep following me here.
In the next days I will make this blog look and work better.

Welcome!

Cheers,
Ivonn
